A lot of authors I love are adult thriller writers like James Patterson and James Hall. John Steinbeck is my favorite. In young adult, Carrie Ryan and Kimberly Derting are at the top of my very long list.
2.Who has had a major influence on your writing?
James Patterson older works probably had the most influence. I grew up sneaking my mom’s adult thrillers like James Patterson’s Alex Cross series, John D MacDonald Travis Mcgee series, James Hall, and Sue Grafton Alphabet mysteries.
3.Name a book you never finished?
How much time do you have? I could never get through Moby Dick. I know bad right?
4.What word or words do you always have trouble spelling?
Wierd (see? It’s weird right?) and acquisitions I always spell without a C
5.What three adjectives best describe you?
Loyal, funny (at least I think so) and creative
6.Which of your characters would you want to be and why?
I would love to be Grace. I love how confident she is and that she knows what is important. She doesn’t get pulled into trivial things and she isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes in – no matter what. Oh yeah – and bugs don’t freak her out ☺
7.Which author would you invite to dinner?
John Steinbeck. His book Travels with Charley is my favorite book of all time.

In my office (boring right?)

When I can (see I am not exciting)

My family and writing (corny but true)

Losing my family and dying before I can make some mark on this earth

Wait - I can only pick one?? Martinis. Margaritas. Dark Chocolate.

I am honest

Loyalty and humor – you can’t take yourself too seriously if you hang out with me.
15.Would you be lying if you said your works were not autobiographical?
I think there is some of me in all my characters. Some of what I had. Some of what I want.
16.What part of your personality do you detest?
My ADHD. It can be a curse but it has its pluses. But I tend to get distracted easily or get stuck on something that bothers me and can’t get off it. But my sensitivity is in close second. My feelings get hurt easily.
