Eat, Pray, Love

Description
This beautifully written, heartfelt memoir touched a nerve amoung both readers and reviewers. Elizabeth Gilbert tells how she made the difficult choice to leave behind all the trappings of modern American success (marriage, house in the country, career) and find, instead, what she truly wanted from life. Setting out for a year to study three different aspects of her nature amid three different cultures, Gilbert explored the art of pleasure in Italy and the art of devotion in India, and then a balance between the two on the Indonesian island of Bali.

I really could not understand all the hoohaa about this book. I was bored and it dragged. When someone is writing about this kind of travel experience, I want to be transported by sights , smells ,activity etc and yet she missed this by a mile. Couldn't even finish it . It was a drag

I agree with you gtuck29 this book is one of those that is boring instead of you enjoying it, you are falling asleep. I’ve tried reading it but couldn't finish because it wasn't what I expected.
To be able to write such experience it needs to be entertaining it also needs to draw the reader into it and I'm afraid that she missed that part.
