Description

An ingenious code hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci.
A desperate race through the cathedrals and castles of Europe.
An astonishing truth concealed for centuries . . . unveiled at last.
While in Paris, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is awakened by a phone call in the dead of the night. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, his body covered in baffling symbols. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist Sophie Neveu sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci--clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.
Even more startling, the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion--a secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci--and he guarded a breathtaking historical secret. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle--while avoiding the faceless adversary who shadows their every move--the explosive, ancient truth will be lost forever.

I found this book quite repetitive with its theme, and found myself wondering why it had become such a huge sensation. Nearly didnt finish it, but plugged away with the second half and finally got there. Wasnt inclined to read any more from this author.

The movie diverged from the book but it was just as disappointing.

Total and absolute drivel. I only read it because of the title. Leonardo Da Vinci is such an incredible character, so I had to read this, but it was so poorly written I couldn't believe how pathetic it was. Laughably awful. Why has it become so successful? Full of holes and cliched, corny characters.

If not the worst thriller I've read, then certainly the worst writing of any genre. The Holy Blood & the Holy Grail, the non-fiction book it seems to be based on, is a much better thriller!

Tedious normal read from Dan Brown, follows the same plot as all his other books. Once you have read this, you don't need to bother with any of the others

This book, like Dan Brown's other books is undoubtably rubbish and would never be chosen by a responsible reading group leader, but Brown's books are all page-turners, and just what you need when lying next to the pool with a Cinzano on the rocks. Needless to say, I have read all his books!

This book was very well conceived, and very well written. However, I would not say it was Brown's best work. If you want to read a good book by him, I'd say go with Lost Symbol or Angels and Demons
