Description

Sam Kingston is dead. Except she isn't. On a rainy February night, Sam is killed in a horrific car crash. But instead of seeing a tunnel of light, she wakes up in her own bed, on the morning of the same day. Forced to live through the same events -- the drive to school, skipping class, the fateful party -- she struggles to alter the outcome, but wakes up again on the day of the crash. What follows is the story of a girl who comes of age in a matter of days. Who discovers, through heartbreaking insights, the consequences of her every action. Of a girl who dies young, but in the process learns how to live. And who falls in love ...a little too late.

I loved this book - it tells an insightful story not only about the what it means to be a teenager in our times but also of second chances, growth & redemption, seeing one's life as interconnected to everything around us and learning to "do the right thing". Sam's growth from self-centred bully to someone who understands what it means to truly love is believable and wonderful to witness, and the "groundhog day" theme shows very cleverly that every one of our actions can have far reaching effects way out of our control. A very clever and touching story I would recommend to any young person or anyone who (like me) is the parent of a teenager - and to anyone else who just wants a good read.

This is a pretty good book. I wanted it to be better than it was but overall I still enjoyed it. Plus the authors second book, Delierum, is great.

I am into inspiring books but mainly I enjoy books that make you lose yourself. They are an escape really. If there is lots of action, movement and character development -- I am keen.
