Description

Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't.

Lauren Oliver astonished readers with her stunning debut, Before I Fall. In a starred review, Publishers Weekly called it "raw, emotional, and, at times, beautiful. An end as brave as it is heartbreaking." Her much-awaited second novel fulfills her promise as an exceptionally talented and versatile writer.

I loved this book, it's such a refreshing change to a lot f the books I've read of late. I couldn't wait to finish it to see what happened to Alex and Lena, and I look forward to the sequel.

It's a book that won't disappoint.

If you like The Hunger Games you'll love Delerium. Quality writing, interesting storyline and characters and a believable Dystopian World. The realisation by main protagonist Lena that her world where love is a disease and at 18 you're "cured" of the affliction, is not all it seems to be. She becomes awakened to the real meaning of love with all its heartache, joy and pain by anti-establishment Alex, a boy who has escaped the subtle"brainwashing" of closed American society not so far into the future

Following in the tradition of Margaret Atwood and Aldous Huxley - Delerium is a fantastic read, the love story between Alex and Lena builds to a final crescendo which leaves you wanting more and counting down the days until the Sequel Pandamonium is realeased in 2012.
