Description

Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books—but we are real.

Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. We have lived among you without you knowing.

But they know.

Awesome story. I was hooked by the prologue and it only got better as the book went on. I loved John, Sam and Six. There's a lot of action in this book which appealed to me.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Bought it on sale with a gift card. I had a hard time putting it down. I really enjoyed it so want to read the rest of the series.

Hey!!! Just a question for all you avid readers! How do you choose your next book? Recently, I have been looking at the last letter of the last page of the last book I have finished. That letter is...more

For me, the only way to pick a book is to physically see it on the shelf. Apart from reading the blurb on the back of a book, I look at the cover, assess the topic and decide if it will interest me or not. It's pretty hit and miss but then so are recommendations from friends!

i pick up a random book read a bit of and if i would to read it go being completely random

i know right same with me!

umm well its good if you just read the back cover and if you like then thats the one..or usually its just based on what you feel like

Hmm, that's an interesting way to do it. Maybe when I'm mostly done with my current list I'll try that.

Right now I either pick a book from my list, any one that interests me depending on my mood, or I'll read one that grasps my attention from the store. But I guess I mostly go off of my current mood. I usually have three different ones going at a time, different genres, unless I'm reading a series. No fancy ways, just whatever I can't live without at the time.

I pretty much always have to just pull an unfamiliar book from my shelf as I'm racing to get the train to work - I don't recommend this method!

I read non fiction primarily. I pick a subject that is of interest to me, chiefly psychology and then read all I can on it. I then go through the authors recommendations and references to further my own understanding and better understand how the author's have arrived at their own conclusions

What i do is i go to the book store and have like a book kinda in mind like mystery, or fantasy, etc. and then i find a book that looks interesting and fits that genre

Well I usually go in to a book store with a certain genre in mind or a certain author. I can say though that I typically read the same types of books so I guess I just find something that looks interesting to read!

I also flip through it and read a random page, usually towards the middle as to not spoil anything, that way I can get a sense of the authors writing style. The way the author writes is huge to me. If I don't like their style, I can't finish the book. It's rare, but it definitely has happened.

Well I usually just read the back of the book.

How I choose the books I read largely depends on what mood I happen to be in, and I often go through phases of liking certain genres over another. There are times when someone will recommend a book or a particular author and I usually follow up if it sounds like something I'd like. An example of this is when I went back to college (at age 51) one of my teachers was an avid reader like me so she suggested a book called Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, thinking I would enjoy it. Not only did I enjoy it, I ended up reading all 7 books in the series, one right after the other! Loved, loved, loved every one of the books. So that is the way I choose my books, how about you?

I usually get myself a coffee and off to the bookstore I go. I pick a whole bunch of books and then write down the ones that interest me and then usually purchase 5 at a time, so I have a stack to choose from depending on how I am feeling, do I need some fluff or something to sink my teeth into.

I just added the Diana Gabaldon books to my list. I hope they're good, I've heard good things. And coffee is always a must at the bookstore, it's like heaven.

I generally read what the book is about, whether online or on the book cover...Then I may read the first paragraph or so of the book to see if it catches my attention..If it does, I will get it and see if it keeps my interest.

I just read the back of the book and if it interests me ill read the first couple pages if i like it ill read the whole thing

i do the same thing as kittykat12 oh and i like your name kittykat12

I just go into the book store (usually Waterstones) and trust them to choose the right books for me. I pick one that I want then tell them to pick another two for me, and they have always chosen right so far.

People usually tell me what they are reading in the same genre: spirituality, science fiction or fantasy, and I give it a shot. Have not been disappointed so far!

i had a thing with reading Catherine Cooksons The Glass Virgin. now im lost coz i love reading and dont have anything to read that im really interested in. never thought of that kinda thing tho

i just start at the a's in our library and work my way to z picking out whichever book seems interesting.

I went on Amazon and searched the book that i just read and there is usually a list of books similiar to that one so i try them.

i go through and look at books until i come across one that looks all worn, and i figure that all those people enjoyed it so i read it too....

I either pick a book by an author I really like, or I ask my friends what they're reading.

comment...I pick something that looks like nobody else reads or that just doesn't look good, usually it ends up being one of the best books

i usualy just walk to a random shelf and pick a random book. that way i get something different.

I really like this book, and the movie is great too!

the movie? some people i know say the movie was really bad, but i guess i wont know until i watch it myself

I watched the movie earlier, i quite like it and i'm really fussy so.. :L

I didn't like the movie at all. It almost seems like they had a low budget or something because everything looked so fake and cheesy, but the story was good.

It went too fast i think. ;S I don't know if the books going to be good tbh.

I thought the story was good, so I'm going to go ahead and read the book. Books are almost always better than the movies.

I agree with you, Lietzel. Nothing compares to an author's ideas and a reader's imagination.
