hello everyone. i was just wondering if anyone knows any good quotes from interview with the vampire by anne rice & also from ninteen minutes by jodi picoult, about the concept of belonging/not belonging? If so please either write them on the post or message me them as i am thinking about using either of these texts as a related text for belonging

I could not find any "belonging" quotes by Ann Rice but here are a couple from Jodi Picoult, hope this helps :-)

“What if it turns out that a life isn’t defined by who you belong to or where you came from, by what you wished for or whom you’ve lost, but instead by the moments you spend getting from each of these places to the next? ”

― Jodi Picoult, Vanishing Acts

“I don't belong to a religion. Religion's the reason the world's falling apart..." That's what religion does. It points a finger. It causes wars. It breaks apart countries. It's a petri dish for stereotypes to grow in. Religion's not about being holy," Shay said. "Just holier-than-thou.”

― Jodi Picoult, Change of Heart

I read this when I was thirteen- I loved it. Louis is one of my favourite characters, and Interview with the Vampire is a great intro to the rest of the books. Must agree with coytigerlily, they did get silly after a while. I read up to the Vampire Armand, then tried to read Merrick, but just couldn't.

An excellent read! I read this book at quite a young age and didn't put it down. I have read it many times since and its one of my favorite vampire novels. :)

Gotta disagree with you Pezter :) Loved this book. It pretty much drew me in at the first paragraph. I read it ages and ages ago, and followed the series, until they started to get a bit silly lol. Havent read very many vampire books, but when i compare this to the hugely popular twilight series, im left scratching my head. Now they are the worst books ever written!! :D

Seriously one of the worst books i have ever had the misfortune to pick up. i really do not understand why Rice is such a success. she can write - in the sense of transferring words onto the page - but in the sense of being able to create a story, build characters or even set a decent scene, she fails miserably.

By all accounts, she just gets worse after this!
