The Reading Room commented on J. K. Rowling's profile

J. K. Rowling has announced plans to publish her first novel for adults, which will be "very different" from the Harry Potter books which have sold more than 450 million copies worldwide. "The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry's success has brought me," Rowling said.

"Although I've enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series, which has been published so brilliantly by Bloomsbury and my other publishers around the world," she said, in a statement.

"The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry's success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher.

"I am delighted to have a second publishing home in Little, Brown, and a publishing team that will be a great partner in this new phase of my writing life."

MuggleNet's Fan Art of the Week: 'The Dark Lord'

posted on Thursday 24th of May 2012

Our next Fan Art submission of the week comes from Pearson, and it's a very interesting artistic rendering of Lord Voldemort. You can see the full size image right here! Noah's Notes: This was expertly drawn using only ink. Notice how Voldemort's face seems to be sinking in places and otherwise fading into the black background. Appropriately, the piece is drawn distorted and dark to capture Voldy's broken personality. Great work Pearson! If you a...
