Laura Roecker

Biography

Lisa and Laura Roecker are sisters.

Lisa Roecker read her first Nancy Drew book when she was 9, which she promptly abandoned for something far more interesting by Christopher Pike or Lois Duncan. She attended Miami University with a double major in Marketing (because her dad made her) and English Literature (because she loved it). She graduated and took a deeply boring job that paid the bills. Eventually she started writing with her sister to keep things interesting.

Laura Roecker watched Lisa read by nightlight and fell in love with books because her big sister said she should. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Middle Childhood Education in an effort to relive those awkward years all over again. After teaching for several years and telling her students how much she'd love to write a book, she finally realized her dream when she found a writing partner in her sister.

Lisa and Laura Roecker posted Part #1 of their mystery based on the hilarious Seth Allen from their novel, The Liar Society.

Today we're posting Part #4 of Seth and The Secret Admirer AND another super secret clue that will help you puzzle out the mystery so you can enter to win the grande prize.

Standing in front of me were three of the hottest girls in my school. I had to pinch myself to make sure this wasn't one of those dreams they teach you about in health class.

Pain shot up my thigh my bicep and I had to bite back the urge to yelp. Yep, this was actually happening. I grinned from ear to ear. I just couldn't help it. Three hot girls waiting in the garden for me? This was awesome.

"Eeew, Seth! You have all this black stuff in your teeth. What have you been eating?" Kate looked totally disgusted with me as usual, but she slung her arm around my shoulders and gave me a little squeeze. I don't even think she realized she was doing it. Typical Kate. Liking people in spite of herself.

Taylor hung back a little from the rest of the girls. Her icy blue eyes looked even more haunted than they usually did in the moonlit garden. She offered me a small smile and I had to wonder if she was the one who came here to meet me tonight.

Meanwhile Maddie stood next to Kate, pulling down her t-shirt and tugging at jeans that looked too tight now that she was eating again. Her eyes flicked onto my face and back to the ground.

All of the sudden I knew exactly who had called me there tonight. At first my jaw dropped in shock but then I felt my lips turn up into a smile when I noticed the tiniest pink flower embroidered on Maddie’s shirt.

So....Now that you have all the clues, who do you think Seth's secret admirer is? Click here to enter and if you guess correctly you'll get an entry to win the iPod Touch loaded with 6 AMAZING books!

This made me laugh so hard that I peed a little. I'm only slightly ashamed to admit that I didn't realize this was a doctored spoof until the porcupine clip showed up.Of course, there's a small chance this isn't really funny at all and I'm still high on paint fumes.Either way, HAPPY FRIDAY!...

But ever since her dad died, she's been isolating herself from her boyfriend, her best friends—everyone who wants...

The Bookanistas: How to Save a Life

Hmm...well, here's what I know about HOW TO SAVE A LIFE. It has about a bazillion starred reviews. Laura is currently reading (and loving it) and considering she nodded off in the middle of our conversation yesterday the fact that she can stay awake long enough to get through more than a paragraph is worth more than any fancy schmancy starred review. The other thing I know about HOW TO SAVE A LIFE was that Laura was supposed to write a B...
