Description

The most shocking secret in the history of mankind is about to be revealed...A murderer is on the loose on the streets of New York City: nicknamed the Doomsday Killer, he's claimed six victims in just two weeks, and the city is terrified. Even worse, the police are mystified: the victims have nothing in common, defying all profiling, and all that connects them is that each received a sick postcard in the mail before they died - a postcard that announced their date of death. In desperation, the FBI assigns the case to maverick agent Will Piper, once the most accomplished serial killing expert in the bureau's history, now on a dissolute spiral to retirement. Battling his own demons, Will is soon drawn back into a world he both loves and hates, determined to catch the killer whatever it takes. But his search takes him in a direction he could never have predicted, uncovering a shocking secret that has been closely guarded for centuries. A secret that once lay buried in an underground library beneath an 8th Century monastery, but which has now been unearthed - with deadly consequences.
A select few defend the secret of the library with their lives - and as Will closes in on the truth, they are determined to stop him, at any cost...

A serial killer stalks the streets of New York. A strange child shows up at a monastery in 8th century Isle of Wight (England). A new Author and his first book hit a winner in my opinion. Some critics panned it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story is a bit fractured because it jumps from present day to 700 AD to fill out the story, but even those side trips are interesting.

"The Doomsday Killer", has claimed six deaths in just two weeks. the people of New York city are up in arms and the police are stumped. The victims appear to have nothing in common, and the only thing that appears to connect them is a postcard wi... more

hell raiser, hahaha I do that all the time, IF, I forget to check my database, I used to buy the same book over and over because they changed the cover, until I created my book database. Now I check my printout BEFORE I order something. :)

Found this book a bit difficult to get into - the opening sections are very fragmented with no obvious connection. but it's worth making the effort - it is certainly based on a very thought provoking concept... what would happen if humans were imbued with the knowledge that God has?
