Description

For LA producer Larry Brooker, this is the movie that could bring the fortune that has so long eluded him...

For rock superstar, Gaia, desperate to be taken seriously as an actor, this is the role that could get her an Oscar nomination...

For the City of Brighton and Hove, the publicity value of a major Hollywood movie being filmed on location, about the city's greatest love story – between King George 1Vth and Maria Fitzherbert – is incalculable.

For Detective Superintendent Roy Grace of Sussex CID, it is a nightmare unfolding in front of his eyes. An obsessed stalker is after Gaia. One attempt on her life is made days before she leaves her Bel Air home to fly to Brighton. Now, he has been warned, the stalker may be at large in his city, waiting, watching, planning.

Peter James just gets better and better at this mysteries. I particularly like his Inspector Roy Grace because unlike most of the fictional detectives out there Inspector Grace does not have any major problems with addictions, and he is not grumpy and unpleasant although he does have an unresolved case of his missing wife. It is always harder to make an interesting character out of a relatively good person, but somehow Peter James manages just that without any effort. This is a brand new case which involves celebrities and seriously "sick" stalkers... as usual the story builds the suspense really nicely, introduces us to some fascinating and pretty esoteric police procedure ( gait analysis) and adds another piece to the story of Sandy ( the missing wife) I would recommend this book to anybody who feels like reading an intelligent mystery, it is not all car chases and explosions but it is still a great deal of fun.
