Private Equity
|
Description
By examining the present booming venture capital business in the UK, this book aims to show how and why it has developed into its current form, and how it relates to practices in Europe and in the US. It examines how management buy-outs and buy-ins work, what they are intended to do and what managers doing them can expect to gain. It also provides practical guidance to private equity and venture capital, a chapter on on-line facilities, and case studies to illustrate successes and failures both from the UK and the US. It aims to give managers the motivations, the risks and what they can reasonably hope to achieve to allow them to determine whether or not a management buy-out would be appropriate for a particular business and, if so, how to proceed further.
