Cassia faces the ultimate choices in the long-anticipated conclusion to the "New York Times" bestselling Matched Trilogy
After leaving Society and desperately searching for the Rising--and each other--Cassia and Ky have found what they were looking for, but at the cost of losing each other yet again: Cassia has been assigned to work for the Rising from within Society, while Ky has been stationed outside its borders. But nothing is as predicted, and all too soon the veil lifts and things shift once again.
In this gripping conclusion to the #1 "New York Times" bestselling Matched Trilogy, Cassia will reconcile the difficulties of challenging a life too confining, seeking a freedom she never dreamed possible, and honoring a love she cannot live without.

What a disappointing end to a strong series. The Cassia and Ky love story turned to the plot of New Moon from the Twilight series. The strong Cassia from the other books became whiney and annoying. Ky was equally disappointing. However, Xander is worth finishing the series! Yay, Xander you grew, you changed for the better, you were selfless and strong. The only reason to finish the story is to follow Xander's story. Unlike the other two books I did not add this book to my "strong-female characters" shelf.

I really like Ally Condie and I hope to read more of her books but I hope that she stays away from that silly "I can't live without you " crap. Love doesn't have to be so all consuming. That didn't work out so well for Romeo and Juliet! Also, it's not the kind of love I want my kid to get involved in, so I may not suggest this series to my teen.

My favourite part about this book was close to the end when it was revealed who matched Ky and Cassia, that was a nice little wrap up. I really wish that there had been more of that cleverness intertwined in these books, it would have made them a lot more interesting and compelling.

Because I continued to not connect with the characters, the book in all honesty dragged for me. I wanted to like it more than I did, but the story wasn’t strong enough to overcome characters who just didn’t stand out for me. Despite the rebellion, their strength of will etc which I got very clearly, there was a lack of fire or passion in the way the characters were expressed that just left me with the impression of characters who were placid.

It had a good wrap up at the end, tying a few lose knots and bringing things together that had been planted throughout the series, but because I hadn’t come to love the characters it lacked the impact it otherwise could have had.

I know there are people out there that loved this series, and I can see why, but I can also see why this series wouldn’t do much for other people. It had some great elements, but it just didn’t work for me in the end.

Have you read Divergent by Veronica Roth? It is an incredible dystopian YA series as well. You will love it.
