Description

Sherman Alexie tells the story of Junior, a budding cartoonist growing up on the Spokane Indian Reservation. Determined to take his future into his own hands, Junior leaves his troubled school on the rez to attend an all-white farm town high school where the only other Indian is the school mascot. Heartbreaking, funny, and beautifully written, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, which is based on the author's own experiences, coupled with poignant drawings that reflect the character's art, chronicles the contemporary adolescence of one Native American boy as he attempts to break away from the life he thought he was destined to live.

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, Alexie's YA debut, released in hardcover to instant success, recieving seven starred reviews, hitting numerous bestseller lists, and winning the 2007 National Book Award for Young People's Literature.

If I found myself at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, the book I would recommend others read would be Junior's story in Sherman Alexie's book, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. Growing up, I cannot recall having the opportunity to connect or read about another rather like me - 'half of one and half of another'. The book provides humorous, honest insight in the words of a a real-life kid.

Easy what you do is go up the top where it has the authour of the book or the title of the book you click on one of them and it will show a blue dot and then you type in what the book is or if they dont have the book you click on the authour and it might tell you what book he/her have written i hope that helped.!! I love this book. It's never boring. Sure there's a little profanity, but Alexie knew how to put it in there and used just the right amount. Something is always happening here, whether Junior's best friend, Rowdy, is mad at Junior or Junior's worried about his big sister, Mary, who ran away.
