A really terrific read. This book is ostensibly for the Young Adult market, but I was thoroughly engaged. It reminded me of Ursula LeGuin's "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas." It is a dystopian children's novel, which you wouldn't think of as being a big hit, would you? But it is. Slowly, the dark side of the "Sameness" cloak under which the community lives is revealed, and it's quite chilling. It made me think, and question. It kept me guessing, and desperately wanting to know what happens next. I look forward to reading the next book in the trilogy. Well done.
