Description

#1 bestselling author Nicholas Sparks's new novel is at once a compelling family drama and a heartrending tale of young love.Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alientated from her parents, especially her father...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels--first love, love between parents and children -- that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that love can break our hearts...and heal them.

A fantastic book by Nicholas Spark. It makes you examine your own relationships, and wonder whether you are working hard enough at making them the best they can be.

The father and daughter relationship is beautiful, the character Steve, played out so lovingly, waiting for the right moment to engage with his daughter....giving her time and space to work things out with herself first.

This book made me laugh out loud and cry too, I will read it again and again.

I found the book to be far more entertaining and emotionally-gripping than the movie. Nicholas Sparks has a way of captivating the reader emotionally. The movie did touch on Ronnie and her father's relationship well, but the book set it out in a more convincing way and gave them much more time to bond.

this book was hands down the best book ive ever read!! the different levels of the story (relationship between ronnie and will, the relationship between ronnie and her father, the relationship between ronnie and her brother, the issue of rebellious adolescences, and her fathers sickness) really make this book easy to read. in intimate scenes between ronnie and will i couldnt help but find myself smiling. the end of the book caught me completely off guard. like ronnie mentions, i, as the reader, didnt suspect a thing. Saying that though, didnt stop me from crying extremely hard and wanting to read it over for other people to feel the same joy and pain as i did. Thanks to Nicholas Sparks who has really made me appreciate my family just the way ronnie learns to in the end of the last song.

I've read this book twice and it is not hing short of amazing. The relationship between Ronnie and Will is amazing, and the book was way better than the movie, though the movie was good. I love this book so much and I can't wait to read more NS novels :)
