One word to describe this second novel I have from author Nicholas Sparks and that's FANTASTIC!

I finished "The Lucky One", by Nicholas Sparks. I really found it captivaing. Half way through I hardly wanted to put it down. I kept turning the pages for more. I left a comment about the book.

I am often reluctant to read Sparks's books because I know he tends to end them on a sad note; but I really enjoyed the twists and turns of this one. Plus, Zeus is such a loveable dog! Couldn't put this down, practically read it in one sitting.

I see the authors' name re-appearing on recommended lists, but the book covers and the blurb gives the impression of run of the mill romance. You know, boy meets girl, both have "issues ", but LOVE finds a way! From the reviews, this would seem to be over simplified. Could anyone explain the attraction. I am interested (but not sold) I can't bear soppy stuff! P.S..Thanks for the web site. I have only just found it and have spent a fortune on Amazon since then.

"The Lucky One", by Nicholas Sparks was entertaining. It was a novel about honesty and trust, Two Marines in the same small town, at different times and loving the same woman. Also, with an ex-husband , a ten year old boy and a loving dog named Zeus...... I loved the plot the Author came up with. The turning points of each incident was astounding and clever to the next stimulating fold in the story. After half way through the book I had a hard time putting it down. Than came the heart-stopping ending. Oh, no!!! .......I thought the book was breathtaking and an eye-opener.......Banjo

This book rocks because its about how he found this girl and he really liked her bit didn't now how to tell her that the sad thing is that no one new that this had happened until the girls ex husband found it in the guys pocket one day and shoeless... more
