Description

Emily Gold and Chris Harte are soul mates. They have lived next door since they were born, sharing everything from chicken pox to Chinese food, and in high school their friendship blossoms into something more. Then a midnight call from the hospital changes everything: Emily is dead at seventeen from a gunshot wound to the head. There's a single unspent bullet in the gun that Chris took from his father's cabinet - a bullet Chris tells police he intended for himself. But a detective has doubts about the suicide pact theory and slowly Chris's and Emily's closely guarded secrets are revealed as the real truth about the lead up to that night unfolds. The Pact is a compelling story of friendship and family, betrayal and anguish, and the unforeseen consequences of love.

I love her books. Most of them are really sad but they are realistic too. You can practically see it happening as you read. This is a good thing for some people and a bad thing for others. For me I like to feel like I'm really in the story.

I loved this book, it had me literally from the first page, and I could not put it down until the end, it keeps you guessing and seriously pulls out every emotion in you. There is no good guy or bad guy you can relate to and sympathize with every character. I highly recomend it!

OMG. I've read the first 50 pages of The Pact by Jodi Picoult. It's sad. All Jodi Picoult's books are real teary.

Lady Luck commented:

There's enough drama in my life without reading her sob stories.

I have never been a big Jodi Picoult fan, I found that it pulled on my heart strings a bit too much. When I read a book I prefer to be entertained... not heart broken. That is not a criticism to Jodi Picoult's writing though.
