It's the spin-off series from VA. It tells the perspective of Sydney, the alchemist, following Rose's adventures in the final Vampire Academy book. In it Sydney is taken to a human school with the vampire royal Jill since the moroi who don't like Lissa try to get to her sister instead.

I own and have read all of the Vampire Academy books, and I think they are up there with the best Vampire books I have ever read. I think that the concept the author conceived is very original in that the whole concept of what vampires are is totally reinvented. I absolutely loved twilight, I finished the series in a matter of days and then went back to the start and read them again. I did almost exactly the same with the Vampire Academy series which I could not put down. Although I love both series, I don't think that they should be compared just because they are about vampires, the only real similarity I see apart from that is the love-triangle aspect but even that is not really the same. I thought the characters in Vampire Academy were very real and make you care what happens to them. It also has a lot of action and really keeps you in suspense. I love these books and would recommend them to anyone who likes this genre, and even those who aren't big fans of vampire books.

These are good books. The first couple were a little repetitive and they are really easy reads. They get better as they go on and the main character starts to mature. Richelle Mead is really good at making you feel like you're living in her worlds. I felt like I was there experiencing everything with Rose. I would recommend these books mostly to young adults, but adults may like them also if they can overlook the simplicity of the first few books.

I havn't read those. I enjoy the tv series so I havn't really given any time to even try the VD books. And when you read the VA series, it's a good idea to try and not compare them to Twilight. They really are extrememly different. Anyway hope you guys enjoy!
